Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a can body which evenly form a coating film on the whole area of the internal surface of a can body formed into a cylindrical shape and bottomed, and at the same time, ensures the pressure resistant strength of the bottom section. SOLUTION: The bottom section 11 is provided with a dome section 13 which indents to the internal side of a can body 12, and an annular protruding section 14 which is connected with the outer peripheral end of the dome section 13 and protrudes to the external side of the can body 12. The annular protruding section 14 is equipped with: a nose section 14a on the distal end; an inner peripheral wall 14b which is connected with the internal side in the diametrical direction of the nose section 14a; and an outer peripheral wall 14c which is connected with the external side in the diametrical direction of the nose section 14a. A paint is fed from an opening section to the internal surface of the bottom 11 and the internal surface of the can body 12, and the paint is applied to those internal surfaces. After a coated film is formed by drying and curing the applied paint, a reforming process for the bottom section 11 is performed in such a manner that an angle formed of at least a part of the inner peripheral wall 14b and the can axis becomes smaller.
