Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant flow rate measuring method and an air conditioner capable of accurately measuring a mass flow rate of a refrigerant as gas-liquid two phase flow with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: Flow velocity, pressure and temperature of the refrigerant flowing in a refrigerant circuit 110 are detected, a refrigerant flow rate is calibrated by a calibration formula 142 on the basis of the detected flow velocity, pressure and temperature, and a mass flow rate of the refrigerant is calculated on the basis of the calibrated refrigerant flow velocity, thus the mass flow rate of the refrigerant of gas-liquid two phase flow can be accurately calculated. Accordingly, this method dispenses with a large-size expensive device such as a Coriolis-type flow meter, and is very effective when used in mass-production of the air conditioner.
