Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating apparatus capable of making compatible prolonging durability of a heating rotary body that generates heat by magnetic flux from a magnetic flux generating means, and quickly rising to a temperature capable of heating. SOLUTION: The image heating apparatus has a control means 80 to control feeding power to a magnetic flux generating means 47 and a heating means 46 and rotational driving of a driving means 41. The control means performs control to feed power to the heading means when starting an image heating apparatus and to stop rotational driving of a heating rotary body 42 and a pressing rotary body 45 by the driving means and feeding power to the magnetic flux generating means until the temperature of the pressing rotary body reaches a predetermined value. Thus, the temperature of the pressing rotary body is transmitted through a nip part N to the heating rotary body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
