Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescence detection method of a microsample capable of rapidly measuring a large number of the fluorescent spots of high density of a microarray or the like with high sensitivity to acquire numerical value data in a full-automatic manner. SOLUTION: A very small amount of a sample is irradiated with exciting light and the fluorescence extracted from the sample is detected to inspect the state of the sample. The exciting light is the light formed by a light pattern forming means. The fluorescence detection apparatus includes the light pattern forming means, a minute reaction container or a holding part of a material having fine spots and a fluorescence detection means.
