Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-storing fluorescent substance excellent in water resistance and having a luminescent color of a green color with excellent visibility. SOLUTION: This light-storing fluorescent substance is activated by bivalent europium and has chemical composition formula expressed by general formula: (Sr1-x-q-r-Cax-Euq-Mr)O-n(Al1-y+By)2O3-p(GeO2) (M is a coactivator and comprises at least one kind of element selected from a group consisting of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Mn, Sn, and Bi), wherein x, y, n, p, q, and r each satisfy inequalities as follows: 0.001≤x≤0.1; 1.0<n≤3.0; 0.00001≤p≤0.030; 0.001≤y≤0.5; 0.001≤q≤0.2; and 0.001≤r≤0.2.
