Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer regulating member excellent in physical properties such as charging characteristic, and charging developer by required amount, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the developer regulating member. SOLUTION: The developer regulating member regulates the layer thickness of the developer by abutting on a developer carrier 9 in the electrophotographic image forming apparatus 1, imparts charge to the developer by triboelectrification and comprises a metallic support body 11 and a metallic blade 12. The contact charging amount of the metallic blade 12 is 0.5 to 20 (nC), and the surface treatment layer 13 of a silane coupling agent is formed at the part of the metallic blade 12 made of stainless steel containing 17-25% Cr and 7-20% Ni and abutting on the developer carrier 9.
