Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove an acidic gas, especially an acidic gas containing a nitrogen oxide such as nitrogen monoxide. SOLUTION: The treatment agent for removing the acidic gas is constituted of activated carbon and the alkali component (a carbonate or hydroxide of an alkali metal such as potassium or the like) and metal aluminate (an alkali metal salt or the like of sodium or the like) supported on the activated carbon. This treatment agent is useful for removing the acidic gas (the nitrogen oxide such as nitrogen monoxide or the like). The ratio (weight ratio) of the alkali component and the metal aluminate may be about former/latter=50/50-90/10 and the total amount of the alkali component and the metal aluminate may be about 0.01-25 pts.wt. with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the activated carbon.
