Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for appreciating plants controlling moisture of culture soil so as to be advantageous to plant cultivation. SOLUTION: The device for appreciating plants is provided with the following: a water supplier 7 supplying water to culture soil 2, or plants 3 planted in the culture soil 2; a moisture content meter 4 measuring moisture content in the culture soil 2 to transfer the moisture content measured values; an actinograph 5 measuring an amount of light at the circumference of the plant 3 planted in the culture soil 2 to transfer the measured value of the amount of light; and a controlling part 6 where the moisture content measurement values are received to control the moisture content supplied to the culture soil 2 or the plants 3 via the water supplier 7, and the moisture content supplied to the culture soil 2 or the plants 3 via the water supplier 7 is controlled so as to exceed the moisture content supplied based on the moisture content measurement values when receiving the measured amount of light and confirming that the circumference of the plants 3 is changed to a dark period to a light period.
