Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a rubber composition for use in the reinforcing layer member of a run-flat tire as has, together on a high level, the high hardness, low heat build-up and high resistance to fatigue property and to provide a run-flat tire in which the above rubber composition is used in the reinforcing layer member. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for use in the reinforcing layer member of a run-flat tire comprises a blend of 100 parts by weight of a rubber component consisting of 50-80 parts by weight of a butadiene rubber (BR) and at least one kind of a diene-based rubber except the above butadiene rubber (BR), 5-10 parts by weight of silica as a part of the reinforcing agent, 1-5 parts by wight of a phenol-based antiaging agent as an antiaging agent, 2-15 parts by weight of pentamethoxymethylmelamine as a resorcin-formalin (RF) resin, and 1-10 parts by weight of m-cresol resin.
