Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sub-mount for an LED with a reflector having a compact size, and a manufacturing method for the sub-mount. SOLUTION: The sub-mount for the LED is composed of baseboards 2 having input-output terminals 3a and 3b on their surfaces and being made of Si, and the reflectors 1 having through-holes with inclined planes and having formed reflecting films 5 on at least the inclined planes and being made of Si. The reflectors 1 made of Si are loaded on the baseboards 2 made of Si, and joined and fixed. The reflectors 1 made of Si and the baseboards 2 made of Si are joined by a thin-film solder.
