Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating motor, in which the use of coils can be cut down by placing winding coils in an inner stator and thus the manufacture cost of a motor can be chopped, and the efficiency of the motor can be improved by decreasing the resistance of the coils, and to provide a reciprocating compressor that uses the same. SOLUTION: A reciprocating motor 16 includes an outer stator 60, an inner stator 62 arranged separated by a gap on the inner circumferential surfaces of the outer stator 60 and winding coils 64 are attached therein, and a magnet 66 arranged between the outer stator 60 and the inner stator 62, and moved straight reciprocally by applying a power source to the winding coils 64 .
