PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of making sticking on the display screen inconspicuous without increasing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: In response to prescribed operation from a remote controller 40, image data of a still picture causing the sticking are held in a frame memory 23f as a work area that a color decoder 23a can be used. In response to an indication to display a reversal image made with the remote controller 40, the luminance of the image data held in the frame memory 23f is inverted and the reversal image is displayed on a PDP panel 31 to make the whole display screen of the PDP 31 uniform. Consequently, there is no need for providing an extra memory for storing the image data of the image causing the sticking, so an increase in manufacturing cost can be suppressed.
