Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer compound which is suitable for favorably dispersing functional materials such as colorants and solids used in ink compositions or toner compositions. SOLUTION: The polymer compound is a block polymer having at least three block segments consisting of a polyalkenyl ether structure as the repeating unit structure. At least one of the block segments involves a repeating unit structure having a silyl ether side chain expressed by formula (1). At least one of the rest of the block segments involves a repeating unit structure containing either of a side chain having an ionic functional group expressed by formula (2) or an ester type functional group which is the esterified ionic functional group or more than one kind.
