Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an area sequential color imaging apparatus capable of sufficiently securing orthogonal accuracy between a photographing optical axis and the face of each color filter in the case of imaging an area sequential color image. SOLUTION: Each color filter 210 is fitted to a turret plate 202 with a play via a support frame 212. Further, the support frame 212 is made of a magnetic material and formed with three projections 212A for specifying a plane in parallel with the face of the color filter 212. When the color filter 210 is moved on a photographing optical axis L by turning the turret plate 202 to turn on an electromagnet 222 built in a positioning member 220. Thus, the magnetic action of the electromagnet 222 attracts the support frame 212 of the color filter 210 in the direction of the optical axis L to press the three projections 212A formed to the support frame 212 into contact with the reference face 220A of the positioning member 220.
