Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for holding a work which does not cause a malfunction triggered by a spatter generated by welding. SOLUTION: On the side of a casing 12, a plate body for holding the work is installed so as to be rotatabe around a designated axial center by a motor and also holes 16, each of which is equipped with a detection member 17 capable of detecting a welding torch 3, are arranged in a plurality of locations. Also a control unit is provided to rotate the plate body at a designated angle set correspondingly to each detection member by controlling the motor by inputting a detection signal from each of the detection members. Each of the detection members has 2 pairs of photosensors 21A, 21B which can detect 2 points on an operational part of the torch. The control unit is designed so as to output an operation signal to the motor only when the detection signals from each photosensor in the detection member are received concurrently.
