Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultracold temperature cooling device capable of performing a proper heat transfer in accordance with the temperature when heat transfer is to be made to a sleeve through a gap where helium exists. SOLUTION: The ultracold temperature cooling device is to make heat transfer in which the cold generated cooling stages 21 and 22 of a refrigerator 20 is transferred to the sleeve 31 via gaps C1s and C1b where helium gas exists, wherein the heat transfer is performed in such a condition that the heat transfer area A of the sleeve side face is made greater than that B of the sleeve bottom surface when the temperature of the object to be cooled is higher than 10K, and in the condition with sleeve internal pressure heightened when the temperature of the object to be cooled is lower than 10K.
