Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst material having a photocatalytic function of high activity and capable of reducing the occurrence of a peculiar offensive smell at the time of irradiation with ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst material having a base metal supported thereon is manufactured by a raw photocatalyst material producing process P1 for obtaining a photocatalyst material (raw photocatalyst material) in a state that the base metal is not yet supported on the surface of the photocatalyst material and a base metal supporting process P3 for supporting fine particles of the base metal on the surface of the raw photocatalyst material obtained by the process P1. The base metal supporting process P3 is constituted of a solution treatment process P31 for immersing the raw photocatalyst material in a base metal compound solution by a photo precipitation method, an ultraviolet treatment process P32 for irradiating the photocatalyst material on which the base metal is supported in the process P31 with ultraviolet rays and a drying process P33 for drying the photocatalyst material treated in the process P32.
