Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit or suppress the production of a reactant of a reactive fluid and ink on a face, and to maintain constantly stable printing quality by cleaning up the ink, the reactive fluid, the reactant, etc., depositing on the face. SOLUTION: An anti-fixing fluid is sprayed onto the face of an ejection head immediately before the start of a printing operation, and the ejection head performs an ejecting operation (the printing operation) while the anti-fixing fluid is imparted to the face. After the completion of the printing operation or on completion of a predetermined amount of printing operation, the face of the ejection head is wiped by means of a blade, so that the ink and the reactive fluid, depositing on the face, can be removed. Since the anti-fixing agent is imparted in advance, the production of the reactive fluid on the face can be inhibited or suppressed, and the deposited reactant can be prevented from being fixed on the face, even if the reactant is deposited on the face.
