Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can reduce the generation of density irregularities of a recording region such as a meshed part (uniform half tone region) recorded by black ink where a change rate of a recording rate is relatively small while the generation of smear is suppressed, and also which can record high-quality black characters and the like, and to provide an inkjet recording method. SOLUTION: A recording region where black dots are formed by a relatively high duty is detected by a detection process E1000 for a black high duty matrix. The recording region where the change rate of the recording duty of the black dots is relatively small is detected by a detection process E1001 for a black uniform half tone matrix.
