Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus and a communication method for reducing the cost without preparing a server for calling a speech partner and preventing leakage of personal information. SOLUTION: A storage section 103 stores a number of a mobile phone of an owner of an automobile with which the communication apparatus 100 is equipped. A comparison circuit 104 discriminates whether or not a number of a license plate of automobile identification information being information to identify the automobile received by a reception circuit 104 is coincident with a number of a license plate of automobile unique information being information unique to the automobile stored in a storage section 102 and with which the communication apparatus 100 is equipped. A calling circuit 105 outputs a call signal to call the mobile phone of the owner of the automobile when the numbers of the license plates are coincident with each other.
