PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture card transmission system for forming and transmitting an original picture card from a local site by use of a portable terminal such as a cellular phone with camera, in which a sender can acquire the address of a receiver in the local site and post a picture card with local postmark. SOLUTION: A user takes a picture of scenery by the cellular phone with camera in a travel destination, and transmits the taken image data to a picture card transmission server. The user further accesses an address DB and a content DB of the picture card transmission server to specify the address or the like of a designation of picture card and a stylized message or the like, respectively, and the server forms and outputs a picture card based on these data. The server further specifies the present position of the user from the area information of the cellular phone, and assigns an identification code showing the sending point to the picture card. Since the outputted picture card is delivered to a delivery destination corresponding to the identification code, and posted therefrom, the local postmark can be acquired. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
