Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and rapidly manufacture a flat long-sized coil wire, which is suitable as a reinforcing material for rubber products, such as a tire, and has flexibility and large extension, by a simple and compact device. SOLUTION: A coil feeding cylinder 2 has a top plate 6 provided with an arcuate slit 5. A forming die 7 is fixed to the side opposite to a slit 5 formed in a top plate 6 of the coil feeding cylinder 2. A roller 13 is always energized so as to project, as a forming workpiece to collaborate with the die 7, up to a position where the roller coincides with a rotation locus of the die 7, and the roller 13 is arranged in a position where the roller faces a die face at a predetermined rotational position. A cylindrical coil C1is inserted in a coil feeding cylinder 2 and taken out on the top plate 6 through the slit 5. The cylindrical coil C1is sent out by continuously rotating the coil feeding cylinder 2 without rotating the coil C1itself. Forming work is successively conducted to the same portion on the circumference of every one turn of the coil over a prescribed length by collaboration of the die 7 and the roller 13.
