PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wedge inserting device which can easily insert a wedge into a slot in which a coil wire is already wound without buckling and without deforming the wedge. SOLUTION: The wedge inserting device 10 is a device for inserting the wedge 5 into the upper opening of the slot in which the coil wire is already wound in a stator. The wedge inserting device 10 includes a body member 11 for restricting the whole outer peripheral surface of the wedge 5 and having a through hole 12 formed to hold the wedge 5 axially movably, and a movable member 14 which can move via the through hole 12 and has a pressing part 15 for pressing the end of the wedge 5. The end of the wedge 12 inserted into the through hole 12 is pressed in the longitudinal direction by the pressing part 15, and the wedge 5 is thereby guided in the longitudinal direction in the through hole 12, and the wedge 5 is pushed out of the push-out port 12a of the through hole 12.
