Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel electrolyte excellent in heat resistance capable of gelling even nuder the existence of iodine or iodine compound, capable of restraining melting of the gel. SOLUTION: The gel electrolyte is constituted by using a polymer containing at least either iodine or iodine compound, having a bridged structure formed by a chemical reaction of an oxetane group or alicyclic epoxy group of the polymer shown in general formula (1) as a host polymer. R1, R3are hydrogen or a 1-3C alkyl group, respectively; R2is a 1-6C alkyl group, hydroxyalkyl group, or alkyleneoxide group; R4is a 1-6C alkyl group having an oxetane group or an alicyclic epoxy group at its terminal; n, m are an integer of 100 to 1,000, respectively.
