Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize document feeding speeds using respective drives by automatic control in an image reading apparatus including an ADF that feeds a document using different driving sources for paper supply and paper ejection. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus includes a paper supply driving means, a paper supply drive control means, a paper ejection driving means, a paper ejection drive control means, and a document feeding speed measuring means dependent upon the paper ejection driving means. The speed of the paper supply drive control means or the paper ejection drive control means is corrected to be equal with a document reading speed by the document feeding speed measuring means.
