Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store the state of execution of an application read from a read-only storage medium. SOLUTION: A determination is made as to whether or not the application read from the storage medium via a reader requires a storage area to be secured for storing its state of execution (step S13). If the determination is affirmative, it is determined whether or not a storage area has already been allocated to the application 33 (step S14). When the storage area is yet to be allocated, the storage area is allocated into an internal memory (step S15).
