Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal storage body stably usable for a long period by preventing cracks from being generated by thermal stress. SOLUTION: A plurality of honeycomb structures forming the thermal storage body of a thermal storage burner are stacked in the flow direction of gas divided into a plurality of pieces also in a cross section orthogonal to the flow direction of the gas. Also, the honeycomb structure has a relation specified by a table in which, T: usable temperature of honeycomb, h: Height of honeycomb, W: width of honeycomb, d: depth of honeycomb, w×d: projected area of gas passing cross section of honeycomb, w×d×h: volume of honeycomb.
