Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner and a fixing method excellent in fixability and hot storage resistance even in the case of a fixing device using a low surface pressure thin roller, and to provide a black colorant substitutable for carbon black. SOLUTION: The electrostatic charge image developing toner is used in a fixing device in which a toner image is heat-fixed by passing a support which supports the toner image between two rollers, the thickness of the fixing roller brought into contact with the toner image supporting surface is ≤1.0 mm, and surface pressure applied between the two rollers ((roller load)/(contact surface area)) is ≤1.5×105Pa. The toner includes a resin, a wax and a colorant as essential components, wherein a black iron oxide compound including 10-45 wt.% (expressed in terms of Ti atoms) of a titanium compound based on the amount of Fe atoms is used as the colorant.
