Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private communication unit in which high speed data communication of VDSL and telephone can coexist even for a leased line in an enterprise while avoiding such a situation as the VDSL communication is disabled by crosstalk of the harmonics of carrier frequency of DPT. SOLUTION: The private communication unit 31 performing voice transmission and data transmission by means of a digital telephone for extension and VDSL comprises a section 36 for detecting the harmonic level of carrier of the digital telephone for extension, and a section 35 for automatically regulating the center frequency of VDSL depending on the detected harmonic level of carrier.
