Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy by maximally avoiding frequent operation of a traveling engine only for charging. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for a hybrid car is constituted to restrict electric power consumption in the air conditioner when speed of the engine 1 is low due to reduction of in power generation efficiency (= power generation quantity/fuel consumption of the engine 1) with reduced efficiency of the engine. Thus, a frequency for starting the engine only for charging can be reduced. Thus, since excess fuel consumption in the engine 1 can be reduced, average fuel economy in driving a vehicle can be improved, and vibration noise generated at engine starting time and a toxic substance included in exhaust gas can be reduced.
