Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical filter which has a large treatment capacity with a small installation space and can produce treated water of stable quality. SOLUTION: A filtration tank (2) is made spherical, an inner shell screen (5) and a central shell screen (6) are set in the tank (2), and a filter medium (13) is packed in the space between the screens (5 and 6) to implement filtration, so that the thickness of a filter medium layer is made approximately uniform, and the quality of the treated water is stabilized. Since the surface area of the spherical filtration tank (2) is a filtration area, the filtration area is four times as large as that of a conventional cylindrical filter of the same diameter, decreasing the installation space.
