Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degradable mulching mat improving a coating characteristics toward a resin laminated surface and hydrophobic characteristics toward a soil-covering surface at the same time and improving the workability and weed-controlling value of a transplanting machine. SOLUTION: The mulching mat is produced by laminating a resin obtained by copolymerizing or mixing a totally or partially degradable thermoplastic resin with a hydrophilic compound expressed by the formula (1): H(OR1)1-OH [wherein, (1) is a recurring unit; R1is a 2C aliphatic hydrocarbon] on a paper sheet.
