Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which reduces the load for processing that eliminates an image visible from the other side and performs the processing with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The backside of a digital image obtained by digitally inputting one side surface of an original of both sides printing is read, an image range having density equal to or greater than a certain regulated density G is determined, and the processing that eliminates an image visible from the other side is applied only to the image range.
