Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a production yield in a liquid crystal display device comprising a color filter layer and a pixel electrode provided on an array substrate by reducing display defects. SOLUTION: In a region overlapping with the color filter layer PCF when seen from a direction along a plane, the liquid crystal display device 1 has a connection line 218 to connect an effective display region 102 and a drive circuit region 110 in a state having at least a layer of an insulation film 217 disposed between the connection line 218 and the color filer layer when seen from a direction along a cross section.
