Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission output controller in which a tone signal transmitting/receiving function can be effected surely even in the case of short distance fiber communication connection while sustaining stability of the feedback loop of an APC circuit concerning to emission output power. SOLUTION: An APC circuit controls emission output by operating a transistor Q1 based on a photodiode output current Ipd detecting the emission output of a light emitting diode LD. A base current Ib during non-modulation period of a tone signal is generated by applying the inversion pulse signal of the tone signal during optical communication to the emitter of a transistor Q3 thereby turning the transistor Q3 on. Only during non-modulation period of an emission output signal, th APC circut controls the emission output to lower based on the photodiode output current Ipd and the base current Ib thus reducing noise level during non-modulation period on the receiving side so that the tone signal can be discriminated readily.
