Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character processor capable of discriminating an apparatus to be processed from a plurality of apparatuses, and efficiently performing Kanji-character conversion by selecting a proper dictionary for every discriminated apparatus. SOLUTION: This character processor used in controlling at least one apparatus selected from the plurality of apparatuses to be controlled on the basis of input character information is configurated by a dictionary part having a plurality of dictionaries selectively used, a dictionary selecting part for selecting the dictionary from the dictionary part in accordance with the controlled apparatus, and a converting part for converting the input character information into Kanji-characters (Chinese characters) by using the dictionary selected by the dictionary selecting part.
