Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for acknowledging at a place away from a facsimile machine that a facsimile document is received and for instructing processing to the received facsimile document. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine has a memory 109 for storing user information, a detecting means 107 for detecting a user of a transmission destination, an information acquiring means 106 for acquiring information on the user of the transmission destination from the memory 109, a communication means 105 for getting in touch with the user of the transmission destination and an instructing means 115 for instructing processing of the facsimile document, processes the facsimile document according to contents instructed by the instructing means 115, and performs predetermined processing of the facsimile document when the communication means 105 can not get in touch with the user of the transmission destination.
