PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processing apparatus with which dither processing is easily set, setting is easily changed and a setting error and a malfunction caused by the error are prevented, and to provide an image forming device provided with the same, a program and a recording medium. SOLUTION: A half-tone processing part 29 of the image processing apparatus 20 is provided with a dither matrix form storage part 201, a matrix shift vector storage part 202 and a dither processing parameter converting part 203. In the dither matrix form storage part 201, the predetermined form of a dither matrix is stored, in the matrix shift vector storage part 202, a matrix shift vector regulating a direction and a distance to move the dither matrix on a two-dimensional plane is stored, and in the dither processing parameter converting part 203, a matrix element existent at a position adjacent to a matrix element selected out of a plurality of matrix elements comprising the dither matrix is found.
