Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for protecting a motor in a vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: This motor protecting device of a vacuum cleaner includes a lower casing 170 forming the lower part of the body of the vacuum cleaner, a motor housing 160 provided on one side of the upper part of the lower casing, and having a driving motor 150 inside, the top part of which is opened, a filtering means provided on the upper part of the lower casing for filtering dust from inflow air, and an intermediate cover in which a first cover part positioned on the upper part of the filtering means and a second cover part for covering the upper part of the motor housing are integrally formed. A pressure switch for sensing the internal pressure of the motor housing and a damper for letting the outside air flow into the inside of the motor housing when the inside of the motor housing is low pressure are provided directly on the upper part of the motor housing in the intermediate cover.
