Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the discharge delay time of a cold cathode low-pressure discharge tube, and to lower the temperature rise of an electrode member. SOLUTION: Metallic substance powder 5 made of Cs2 Cr4 or the like is coated on only the inner wall surface or both of the inner and outer wall surfaces of cylindrical electrodes 3 facing each other placed at the both ends of a glass tube 1. Furthermore, one or more gaps 6 are made on the side walls of the electrodes 3, and the electrodes 3 are submerged in a solution for coating the metallic powder. This forces the solution to pass through the inside of the electrodes, so that the metallic powder 5 is coated all over the inner surfaces of the electrodes 3. |
