Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide peripheral equipment capable of much more quickly executing accurate processing even when any invalid data are generated. SOLUTION: This printer 1 is provided with a data control unit 15 provided with a function 32 throwing away invalid data after single reading differently from a CPU 11. Thus, it is possible to quickly throw away the invalid data after single reading by the data control unit 15 without deteriorating the processing capability of the CPU 11. Therefore, the data processing speed of the printer 1 can be increased, and simultaneously the processing capability of the CPU can be ensured. It is possible to provide a printer that can much more accurately cope with an environment where any abnormal data are transmitted.
