Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for changing an operating plate cylinder during operation of a rotary press that can almost equalize the set number to be printed before changing the operating plate cylinder with the actual number to be printed, prevent printing unnecessary printing paper (spoilage), and lower costs. SOLUTION: In a device 1 for changing an operating plate cylinder during operation of a rotary press having at least more than two plate cylinders P, driving means 13 and 13' for driving the plate cylinder P, and a switching means 15 for switching from a printable state to a nonprintable state and vice versa selectively, a plate cylinder FP operating previously and a plate cylinder RP operating afterwards are changed without suspending printing operation of the rotary press after printing the set number to be printed before changing the operating plate cylinder.
