Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely stop and position the conveyed work with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The positioning control device has a sensor 44 which detects the tip section edge 1a in the conveyance (X) direction of a work 1 and a positioning mark 1M and a controller 3 controls a servo motor (conveyance means) 22 based on the detection signal of the passage of the tip section edge 1a from the sensor 44 and perform positioning control based on the detection of the positioning mark 1M detected by the sensor 44 after the lapse of a specified time T after detecting the tip section edge 1a. Thanks to the composition, the speed reduction and the positioning of the work 1 can be controlled by a small number of sensors, and a highly reliable positioning controller and a positioning a control method can be provided in simple constitution.
