PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus making it possible to set and perform a connecting mode in order to make the best use of a facility of the connecting mode even after starting of a single printing operation of a single printing operation. SOLUTION: An institution of a connecting mode can be received and a translation to the connecting mode can be performed upon an operation of a connecting key even while a single printing operation only by a master machine after starting of the printing operation by pushing down a copy starting key of the master machine. Thereby single printing operation can be translated to the printing operation in the connecting mode without stopping of the job in practice only by operating the connecting key as of necessity when a rapid printing finish and a space of slave machine takes place even when an usual single operation of the master machine starts by translating to the operation of the connecting mode. In a result the best use of facility of the connecting mode can be made because a time for institution of the connecting mode may be selected at will.
