Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply device wherein the number of components can be reduced, the assembling workability can be raised and the ink can be surely supplied for a long time without deteriorating the ink and to provide an ink jet recorder having the ink supply device. SOLUTION: Each of an ink supply tube 124 and an air discharge tube 126 is made of a material having a predetermined elasticity so that each of them is neither buckled nor damaged by displacement of an ink supply unit 48 during the supplying of the ink. The ink supply tube 124 is made of a selected material having a water vapor permeability not greater than a predetermined value so as to prevent vaporization of a volatile component in the ink passing through the inner section thereof and composition change due to the air mixed in the ink.
