Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification system capable of shortening the processing time required for identification against the number of conditions for personal identification and having high security against the theft or loss of a possessed object. SOLUTION: This personal identification system is provided with first and second portable communication units held by an identification subject person and storing individual identification codes, and an identification device main body confirming that the first and second portable communication units are held by the identification subject person and the combination of the held first and second portable communication units is adequate based on the collation of the identification code given from at least one of the first and second portable communication units and requiring this confirmation as all or part of the identification conditions of the identification subject person.
