Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide garden tools and ergonomic handles therefor that can provide additional structural merits and operational merits, as they avoid the defects of the conventional garden tools and handles therefor. SOLUTION: The garden tools are connected through the shaft to the plastic made handle and include the working head. The handle has the main core body made of a relatively stiff plastic. The handle has the hollow part that is divided into the fore part and the rear part. The hollow part is filled with a flexible and elastic material and the fore part can be bent toward the corresponding rear part. The flexible and elastic handle casing covers the outer face of the core main body except the hollow part. In one embodiment, the hollow is inside the core main body and notched. In a digging tool such as a small shovel, the notch is formed at the lower side of the core main body adjacent to the distal end, while in a pulling tool such as a plow or a sweeping tool, the notch is formed on the upper side of the core main body adjacent to the working end. In order to separate the narrow hinge in co-operation with the notch, a depression may be formed on the contrary side to the notch on the core main body. In another embodiment, the hollow includes the hole that extends in the transverse direction through rope extended part of the handle casing and further in another embodiment, the hollow is formed on both of the upper side and the lower side of the core main body and includes the notch that is separated by the hinge that mutually connects the fore part to the rear part of the handle.
