Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector which has high optical conversion efficiency and detection sensitivity of radiation, such as transmitted X-rays and can obtain photographic images of high resolution. SOLUTION: The radiation detector 1 is equipped with plural detection channels, onto which of radiation 13 emitted by a radiation source and transmitted through an object to be inspected is made incident, scintillators 2, which emits scintillation lights corresponding to the intensity of the radiation made incident on the detection channels, and an optical responding means 3 which converts the projection lights from the respective scintillators 2 into electrical signals and is characterized by that a light wavelength converting layer, which converts the wavelength of the scintillation light into the wavelength-matching optical response characteristics of the optical response means 3 is formed between the respective scintillators 2 and optical response means 3.
