Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically assign a logical network address to a terminal without the need for using a server. SOLUTION: A network address configuration section 4 transmits a broadcast packet to inquire about a network address part and generates a network address part when no reply arrives. A host address configuration section 5 generates a host address part. An address generating section 3 combines the network address part and the host address part to obtain a logical network address. After setting the address, when a logical network group designated by a broadcast packet from another terminal is identical to the logical network group to which the local terminal belongs, a reply section 8 returns the network address part of the logical network address of the local terminal. |
