Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate no settlement in a laminated rubber in supporting an upper structure with a base isolation device when realizing a base isolation structure of a new building or an existing building using a base isolation device supported with the laminated rubber. SOLUTION: Axial force introducing members 3, 4 to apply the compressive force in the axial direction to the laminated rubber 8 by adjusting the distance between templates 2, 2 are stretched between two templates 2, 2 which hold the base isolation device 7 in the vertical direction, the load which is sustained by the laminated rubber 8 when the laminated rubber 8 supports the upper structure 10 is introduced in advance by the axial force introducing members 3, 4 so that a uniform settlement is generated over the whole section of the laminated rubber 8.
